On the mid-twentieth century, drywall, also called plasterboard, or gypsum, came into widespread use, and now almost all buildings have wall boards. Drywall has a number of advantages over plaster; ease of installation is the most obvious. Gypsum is made using plaster, which is then covered on both sides by the fiberglass mat or heavyweight paper. Rib lath is a versatile metal mesh stiffened by longitudinal ribs.
